CAP on the AIR
Mr. Bechard Promotes Portfolio Exhibition
On Monday morning, Career Aspirations Program coordinator Roland Bechard and CAP student David Lumbert were featured on two local radio shows, promoting the March 27th portfolio exhibition evening at Calais High School. On WQDY's Street Beat program, Mr. Bechard explained how the program started and thanked the support of the 56 business, civic, and community partners the program now has. Lumbert explained how the personality profile generated results that assisted him with finding a career which he hopes to pursue. Then, in the WCRQ studio, Mr. Bechard again explained the CAP program and described the different job shadowing experiences students from CHS have had, including two students at the radio station. Lumbert was asked what careers he may be interested in and was jokingly told that if "nut job" showed up on his personality profile, then being a radio host would be a perfect position.
The first annual CAP Portfolio Exhibiton will be held on Thursday March 27, 2008 from 6-7:30 PM. Seniors will be showing their portfolios to members of the community (the public is welcome) and answering questions about their career goals. The class of 2008 is planning a spaghetti dinner to complement the event.
