Academic Decathlon has a rich history at Calais High School, boasting many individual medal winners and team championships. Since it was started in 1986, the team has won over 180 individual medals, 22 trophies, the Super Quiz championship, and the overall 2nd place award in 1996. CHS also has the distinction of setting the individual high scorer record in 1996. Above is the Academic Decathlon team's trophy case. Reflected in the glass is the National Honor Society wall, with plaques featuring past and present members.

Calais High School's front walkway is adorned by beautifully landscaped shrubs and flowers leading to a glass-paneled lobby. A slanted canopy adds to the design of the front entrance.

Recently constructed, the Calais Education Park sign points visitors in the direction of Calais High School, Calais Middle School, St. Croix Regional Technical Center, and Washington County Community College. With these four educational institutes around each other, students can find career training in everything from business management to plumbing without having to leave home.

Plaques spanning over 30 years decorate the hallways of Calais High School, from sporting events to academics to CHS students who have been elected president of the Maine Association of Student Councils. The plaques rest on historic wood from the old bleachers located in the CHS gymnasium before renovation. CHS Technology Education students worked on many of the plaque railings, while the CHS Student Council contributed to the effort.

This mural, designed and painted by Libby Castor, decorates the Technology Education design laboratory. Throughout Calais High School, student artwork can be found showcasing self-portraits, sketches, and murals.

The Wall of Fame recognizes students involved in extra-curricular activities from sports to academics to vocational programs. It is updated seasonally by the Student Council to recognize those students who broaden their horizons by participating in school activities.
