Leadership Conference

On March 15, members of the CHS Student Council, National Honor Society, and class officers travelled to the Brewer Auditorium to listen to Canadian motivational speaker Andy Thibodeau speak about his experiences as a leader and tips on how to improve school environments. Through humorous stories, bizarre cheers, and amazing messages, students were able to take away several great ideas on how they can increase school participation, work with teachers and administrators, and create strong relationships with the community.

Class of 2010 treasurer Ty Davis described Thibodeau as "inspiring and funny; two qualities that go hand in hand." Davis said that his favorite part of the presentation was Andy's story about the haunted house his school created for the 1989 MOGA (Most Outrageous Group Activity), in which every hallway was decorated according to a theme, such as Frankenstein and a pirate ship.

Thibodeau visited Calais High School in 2002 and has continued to travel around North America delivering keynote addresses and conducting workshops for over 2000 schools, reaching over 2 million students. For more information on Andy Thibodeau, visit www.andypresentations.com/.
