Let It SNOW

Union 106 Schools Closed

CHS students have a long weekend after it was announced this morning that school will be closed due to inclement weather. Depending on which forecast one believes, the Calais area is expected to receive 8-18" of snow from today to Tuesday. A winter storm warning is currently in effect for Maine until Tuesday afternoon, forcing some students and parents to wonder if two snow days may be possible. At any rate, stay tuned to CalaisSchools.org for updates on school closings or listen to one of the following radio/TV stations:

SNOW SCHOOL!!

Calais High School Closed for Second Day

Icy roads and continued snowfall caused Union 106 schools to be closed for the second day on Tuesday. With accidents around Calais already being reported, it was a very smart call to cancel school. With a 20% chance of snow on Wednesday, it is unlikely that the blowing snow will cause CHS students to have another day off from school. But then again, this is Maine, so never be too sure about tomorrow's weather. For the National Weather Service's forecast for Calais, Maine, click here.
