New CHS Webmaster
As his senior year comes to a close, CHS Student Webmaster David Lumbert will be passing on his duties as webmaster to CHS student Jennifer Ross. Ross, a freshman at CHS, plans to increase news stories, create a website design team, and continue to provide updated information to visitors of the Calais High School website. As his senior legacy project, Lumbert has left a tutorial to website design and the CHS website to the school.

History of Rock & Roll Class
In Rehearsal
There were laughs, slam dunks, and lots of great basketball on April 3rd, when the Harlem Rockets visited CHS to play against the boys' basketball team. Hundreds of people came to the high school gymnasium to support the event, which raised funds for JMG and the CHS athletic boosters. Joining the boys' basketball team were former players Brandon Tomah and Robbie Rogers.
Ricky "7-Footer" Lopez and
Chris "The Chicken" Turnquest also visited CHS during the school day to provide a preview of the evening's entertainment. With a game of "You Are Out" featuring teachers, a few slam dunks, and lots of jokes, the two players pumped the school up for the game. At the conclusion of the program, 7-Footer told students about the importance of studying hard, staying off drugs, and treating everyone with respect. He referred to Kevin "Showboat" Jackson, the team's lead comedian, who grew up in New York City and never got involved in drugs or other bad activities.

Drama Club Named Eighth
Best in State
Kayla Jackson Awarded All-Festival Cast

The Calais High School Drama Club has a long tradition of producing amazing shows for the community. On March 22, they performed their one-act comedy, "Check, Please" for a packed theater at Cape Elizabeth High School. After many laughs and a great performance, three judges evaluated the cast and crew on lighting, costumes, set design, acting quality, blocking, and many other theatrical categories. In the end, Calais received 226 points, enough for eighth place in the entire Class B division. The play, written by Jonathan Rand, displayed a series of blind dates with an old lady, a sports fanatic, a little boy, and even a man in a burlap sack.
Kayla Jackson, who played the girl in the play, was awarded the special recognition as all-festival cast member. This award was given to only 14 students in all of Class B. Congratulations Kayla and great job drama club!!
