Dear Students, Families, and Caretakers, 

Welcome to the new school year at Calais Middle/High School! A school with a tradition of students establishing themselves as outstanding academic, athletic, artistic, and community leaders. I am extremely proud to return as the principal of this vibrant and supportive community.  Our students graduate college/work ready and continue to attend some of the best colleges/universities in the United States. Our comprehensive college dual enrollment program continues to look for opportunities to expand.  Co-curricular and extracurricular activities provide students with the ability to connect socially and have a rewarding secondary school experience. 

The information policies and procedures outlined in this handbook are intended to provide each student with the greatest opportunity to enjoy success in school. Our expectations are intended to provide a safe teaching and learning environment for all students. As a student at Calais Middle/High School, you are a member of the Blue Devil school community. Respect for yourself, respect for others, and respect for the community who is providing the opportunity for you to learn and to grow is the foundation for all student behavior. Please review this handbook and use the contents to make informed decisions about how you will take advantage of your educational opportunities at Calais Middle/ High School. This handbook is not intended to be an all-inclusive list concerning the student code of conduct. Rather, these are the common guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations for students attending Calais Middle/ High School. Feel free to contact us if you have specific questions not covered in this handbook. Calais Middle/High School provides an excellent opportunity for a high quality education.The staff and administration urge all students to make full use of the opportunities provided.
