This program is intended to give students entry-level skills in many areas including:

Business Management: In this comprehensive course, students will explore the key concepts and practices that drive effective management in today's business environment. This course provides a robust framework for understanding the principles of management, organizational behavior, strategic planning, and operational efficiency.

Intro to Business: This course will equip students with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to navigate the world of business. Through a mix of concepts, real-world examples, and interactive activities, students will gain a solid understanding of core business functions like marketing, sales, finance, supply chain management, and human resources.

Advertising & Marketing: This course gives students a strong foundation in marketing theory, from ethics and research to buyer behavior, digital marketing, and more. Students will get a broad marketing base, designed to prepare them for future careers and academic studies. Students will practice building ads, analyzing key performance indicators (KPSs), optimizing landing pages, targeting key audiences, and more.

Accounting 1 – This course introduces basic accounting principles and procedures as it progresses through the accounting cycle for a service based business. Students become familiar with basic financial reports such as the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Owner’s Equity, and Statement of Cash Flows.  Focus is on accounting procedures and theory. This course is offered with concurrent enrollment through WCCC as BUS 140.

Accounting 2 - This course is a self-paced, self-directed course that focuses on the fundamental accounting concepts and principles through the use of the QuickBooks Online (QBO) application. Students will learn how to set up QBO for a business, use it to record business events, and use it to generate financial statements and reports. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Accounting 1.

Business Math – This course presents the mathematics needed to understand the procedures and policies of business transactions, covering bank reconciliation, payroll, trade and cash discounts, simple and compound interest, consumer credit, present and future value, securities and problem solving with fractions and percent. This course is offered with concurrent enrollment through WCCC as MAT 112. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra 1A.

Entrepreneurship: This course will focus on a comprehensive range of entrepreneurial skills. Covering aspects such as ideation, financial literacy, marketing strategies, funding sources, business operations, and business plan development, the course will equip students for the challenges of entrepreneurship.

Business Lab: This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and practical business applications. With a focus on combining traditional business concepts with creative problem-solving and collaborative projects, the course will allow students to develop their ideas from concept to execution. A significant portion of the course will be spent utilizing the Business Studies Maker Space. Must be a Business Studies student.
