The Veterans of Foreign Wars, represented by Bobby Oliver, are proud to announce the local winners of the annual Voices of Democracy Contest, a premier scholarship program which has nearly 26,000 high school students vying for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on a patriotic theme. This year's was "How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?" Prizes can be awarded at the Post, District, state, and national level. Entries were evaluated uon originality, content, and delivery of their oration.
Maggie O'Rourke won first place and a check for $100; Lena Chambers (absent from photo) received $75 for second place. Cassidy Morrison won $50 for third.
