Maggie O’Rourke Receives MPA Principal’s Award
(Calais/Maine) – Maggie O’Rourke of Calais Maine, a senior at Calais High School, has been selected to
receive the 2026 Principal’s Award, Principal Dean A. Preston announced today. The award, sponsored
by the Maine Principal’s Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic
achievement and citizenship.
“It is my great honor to present Maggie O’Rourke with the 2026 Principal’s Award; An honor that
represents far more than academic success or participation in activities. This award speaks to something
deeper. It recognizes a student who consistently demonstrates leadership, integrity, and a commitment
to excellence in everything she does. In a school community like ours, leadership matters. It shapes our
culture. It defines who we are. And Maggie has played a significant role in strengthening that culture;
quietly, consistently, and with purpose.
Calais High School is incredibly proud of her and look forward to seeing all that she will accomplish in the
future.”
