Want to travel this summer?

The Student Diplomacy Corps (SDC) offers opportunities for 1-2 students from
Washington County to study away during month-long international summer programs or US based
academic programs for college-credit. All SDC experiences help students build college readiness, gain
confidence, and connect with other talented young people from across the nation and around the world.

Even better? Families are only expected to contribute a small amount towards the trip thanks to generous sponsors!

Congratulations to Olivia Turner, the winner of Jo’s Grammar for Giving Contest, which was open to only Juniors and Seniors from Calais and Baileyville students. She crafted a heartfelt 500-word minimum essay about her favorite charity while explaining why it deserves a generous donation from Jo’s. For her efforts, Olivia won a $100 gift certificate and an additional $100 in cash.

She selected the Blue Devil Fund, created by Chris Taylor, a former CHS alumni, who envisioned a charity designed to help promote both educational and athletic opportunities for the area’s local youth.

So, On December 15, 2025 go to Jo’s Pizza! ALL SALES will be donated to the Blue Devil Fund. Last year’s charity Downeast Hospice received over $5000 as a result of this. Help Olivia support her favorite charity as well as assist Chris accomplish his goals.
