Correction to earlier message - it is supposed to read teacher workshop, not teacher worship day. Sorry teachers.

Friday, March 13th is a scheduled teacher worship day at the CSD. The elementary and middle school have to make up an additional half day at the end of the school year due to a 2 hour delay and ultimate cancellation on 12/3, which was a planned early release. To make up for this snow day, the elementary and middle school students ONLY will have a half day for students on Friday, 3/13. CMS will dismiss at 10:35 am and CES will dismiss at 10:55 am.

Mrs. Drew has had a tremendous impact on the many students she has taught over the years. With her natural, motherly instincts, she has a special way of making students feel supported, valued, and cared for both inside and outside the classroom. She understands that teaching is not just about lessons and assignments, but about helping young people grow into confident and capable individuals.

Her patience, encouragement, and genuine care for her students have helped shape the lives of so many kids during some very important years of their development. Mrs. Drew creates an environment where students feel safe to learn, ask questions, and believe in themselves.

Our school is incredibly lucky to have Mrs. Drew as a middle school teacher. The work she does each day helps prepare and shape the minds of our future high school students, and her positive influence will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Middle School Student of the month (February ) Antha Hodge is a great example of quiet leadership. She leads by example through her kindness, hard work, and positive attitude both in the classroom and around her peers. Even when she isn’t the loudest person in the room, her actions speak loudly and show the type of person and leader she is becoming. Antha has a bright future ahead of her as she enters high school next year. With her determination, strong character, and willingness to work hard, there is no doubt she will accomplish great things. Our school community is proud of her, and we are excited to see all the success that lies ahead in her high school years.

Student of the month

Chayeden Newell has been a great example of quiet leadership at Calais High School. In the classroom and in athletics, Chayeden leads by example through his work ethic, respect for others, and steady determination. He may not always be the loudest voice, but his actions consistently show his character and commitment.

Whether it’s supporting his teammates, staying focused in class, or doing the little things the right way, Chayeden represents what it means to be a Blue Devil. His presence has made a positive impact on our school community.

As he prepares to graduate this year, Chayeden will certainly be missed in our hallways, classrooms, and on the playing fields. We are proud of the young man he has become and wish him the very best in the next chapter of his journey.

"UPDATED"

Winter Sports Banquet Date Change

Please note that the Winter Sports Banquet has been rescheduled from March 5th to March 17th.

This change is due to our wrestler, Ashaliegh Sulkowski, competing at the New England Championships in Providence, Rhode Island. She will be traveling with her wrestling coach on March 5th.

We are incredibly proud and excited to support her as she represents our school on such a big stage. It wouldn’t feel right to hold the banquet without both our wrestling coach and one of our dedicated athletes present.

Good luck, Ashaliegh! The entire school and community are behind you and cheering you on!
