CMS EXPOSITION

Hello everyone,
Wanted to remind family and friends of 8th graders that the 2023-2024 8th Grade Celebration of Growth will be held on June 3, 2024, from 5:45-7:00 p.m. in the CMHS Gym. Students can arrive between 5:30 and 5:45.
At 5:45 there will be an opportunity for students to sit on the bleachers for parents/guardians to take a Class Picture.
March-in will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Congratulations to seniors Bailey O'Rourke, Kaitlin Morrell, and Liberty Hodge for graduating from the Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute on Monday! These girls have worked hard over the past three years to explore their values, voice, and vision and have created invaluable connections along the way. A special thank you to Julie Redding and Joyce Maker for advising these girls and dedicating their time and resources for the past three years!

Calais High School Creative Writing Students; Aidon Gibson, Erik Garland, Noah Hart, and Derek Meyers along with CHS teachers Lori Ellis, Brandi Cline, Bobbi Tardiff, and Lisa Brown attended the First Annual Washington County Young Writers' Conference at Machias Memorial High School on a Saturday 4/27. These students did an amazing job during this conference and included students from Jonesport, Machias, and CCLC. The students explored fiction writing, map building, and overcoming writer's block. They also brought sample stories to be critiqued by others. Also, credit to Charlotte Peasley, who entered a piece of writing but was unable to attend the conference.
This conference was a success and we look forward to bringing more writers to next year's event on Saturday, May 3, 2025. If you are interested please see one of the teachers listed.

It is time for the annual CMS Exposition
