I hope this message finds you well! I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support in our early childhood education program.
I am thrilled to share that we had the wonderful opportunity to join Mrs. Remington in Boston, where she was recognized as the first teacher in Maine to be announced as a Monster finalist through the Wasabi Fenway Bowl! This achievement to be able to join Mrs. Remington is a testament to the incredible teamwork from our students and the entire community, and we truly can't thank everyone enough for their contributions.
They created a fun video as well, we hope you enjoy... https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTYvfWq2q/

On December 18th, the Early Childhood program at SCRTC joined forces with a local Girl Scout Troop 2253 led by Tomi Ellsmore and had the joy of delivering 72 gifts to our local assisted living and nursing homes. Our students not only shared the spirit of giving but also sang Christmas carols during the visit, which brought smiles to many faces. Additionally, I would like to highlight the culinary program at SCRTC, which prepared 10 boxes of delicious Chex mix for the occasion. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to engage our students in such a meaningful experience.

Merry Christmas!!

Incredible teamwork alert! Chef Eagan’s Culinary Arts students recently hosted an extraordinary Superintendent’s Luncheon that truly highlighted the power of collaborative learning.
Imagine a table where metal art from the Welding Program meets hand-crafted mugs from Business Studies, all while serving up a delectable four-course meal.
These students didn’t just cook, they created an experience that showcased skills across multiple disciplines.

We learned so many valuable lessons through this experience, and now we're gearing up to prepare our Discovery School students for Christmas carols. We're excited to practice a few songs to sing while delivering the gifts next month. Stay tuned!

Exciting times in Mr. Ginn’s Automotive exploratory class . Our 8th graders are learning the ins and outs of an oil filter wrench. Hands-on lessons like these not only build essential skills but also ignite a passion for automotive care.

The Calais School Dept. will be dismissing all students shortly. Unfortunately, the power outage is expected to last long enough to interfere with lunch and use of facilities. Conferences will still be held tonight at CMHS.
Students in the ECE program had a fun-filled Halloween week with many sensory exploration activities.

Students worked hard this week to go over the safety of Halloween. While preparing the students we took our first field trip to all the different trade programs to see their classrooms, meet their teachers, practice our manners, and have a sweet treat! Thank you to all the teachers who took time out of their day to make our students smile!

Mr James our Building Trades Instructor and his students have been working hard on adding an Observation room to the Early Childhood Building. Here are some pictures of where they started and what it looks like today!
