Staff Member of the Month for April

I would like to congratulate Charlotte Peasley for being selected as the Student of the Month for April. Charlotte exemplifies what it means to be a quiet leader within our school community. Her exceptional academic prowess truly stands out, making it clear why her teachers unanimously nominated her for this prestigious recognition.
Charlotte consistently approaches her studies with determination and enthusiasm, and her positive attitude is infectious. She brings a bright smile to school each day, which not only uplifts her peers but also fosters a collaborative and encouraging classroom environment. Annual Calais Middle School Exposition
Put on by Calais Middle School Students
Hello Calais Middle School Parents, Guardians, Family, Friends, Students, and Staff from CHS and CES!
You are invited to Calais Middle/High School on June 2, 2025. Each student will be creating a display station showing off their work for the 2024-2025 school year.
The display stations will be set up in their home rooms. We will have a showing from 12:00-1:40 p.m. and then again from 5:00-7:00 p.m. for those unable to attend during the day.
Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout the school year and would like to share some of their work.
We are thrilled to highlight some of the remarkable experiences and individuals who have visited our school recently to engage with our students. These interactions have been incredibly enriching, providing our learners with unique insights and inspiration

On June 12th, we will be hosting the Eighth Grade Celebration, which is set to commence at 6:00 PM. This special occasion will recognize and honor our eighth-grade students as they prepare to transition to high school. It promises to be a memorable evening filled with celebration and reflection.
June 13th, will be our Middle School Step-Up Day. This event is designed to help students familiarize themselves with what to expect in the upcoming school year. It will provide an excellent opportunity for students to meet their future teachers, tour the facilities, and gain insight into the new learning environment that awaits them.
Be sure to stay informed about these important dates, as they are crucial for our students' celebrations and transitions!

The tennis match that was scheduled for tomorrow 4-26 In Dexter has been rescheduled for May 17 at 11am
Exciting Opening Day for Baseball and Softball!
Today is the day for the Calais High School baseball and softball teams as they kick off their season! The athletes are gearing up to travel to Jonesport- Beals to face off against the Royals in their very first game of the year.
Don't forget, the bus will depart from the high school at 1:15 PM. Let's rally behind our teams and show our support! Go, Calais!

SPRING FESTIVAL 2025
We are thrilled to recognize Julie Cummings as our outstanding Teacher of the Month for March. As a relatively new member of our teaching staff, Julie has already made a significant impact on our school community. With her previous teaching experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm that enriches the educational environment for our students.
Julie goes above and beyond her typical teaching responsibilities, consistently demonstrating her commitment to ensuring that every student feels valued and important. She fosters a nurturing atmosphere in the classroom, where students are encouraged to express themselves and thrive academically and personally.
In addition to her teaching role, Julie has generously volunteered her time as a drama club instructor, showcasing her passion for the arts and her dedication to providing diverse opportunities for student engagement. Currently, she serves as our BARR coordinator, a crucial position where she collaborates with fellow educators to identify students who may need additional support. Her contributions in this role are invaluable, reflecting her deep commitment to the success and well-being of all our students.

Please join me in celebrating Sa Li as our March Student of the Month. We are incredibly fortunate to have Sa Li as part of our student community. She consistently brings a pleasant and cheerful demeanor to our school environment, always striving to achieve her best while uplifting those around her.
Sa Li's dedication and commitment to excellence are evident in her impressive accomplishments, which truly set her apart as a remarkable student. Here are just a few highlights of her outstanding achievements:
Early College Courses: Sa Li has taken the initiative to enroll in numerous early college courses, demonstrating her commitment to academic growth and readiness for future challenges.
Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative's Youth Tour: This summer, Sa Li has been accepted into the prestigious Youth Tour, organized by the Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative. She will have the extraordinary opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., where she will engage with leaders and explore our nation's capital.
Student Diplomacy Corps Program: In addition to her other accomplishments, Sa Li has also earned a spot in the Student Diplomacy Corps program. This summer, she will travel to British Columbia alongside fellow students from across the country, further expanding her horizons and deepening her understanding of global issues.
Furever Pawsitive Campaign: Recently, Sa Li spearheaded a wonderful initiative called the "Furever Pawsitive" campaign. Through her business course at St. Croix Regional Technical Center, she successfully raised funds and donations for our local animal shelter, showcasing her compassion and commitment to making a positive impact in our community.
Sa Li's achievements reflect her hard work, determination, and desire to make a difference. We are proud to recognize her as our Student of the Month and look forward to seeing all the great things she will continue to accomplish in the future!
