Good Morning, Everyone! As we bid farewell to the winter sports season, I want to take this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated. Your enthusiasm and commitment have made this season truly memorable. A special thank you goes out to our dedicated coaches, who have devoted countless hours to mentoring and supporting our athletes. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly appreciative of everything you do. To celebrate the achievements of our athletes, we are excited to invite you to our Winter Sports Banquet, scheduled for March 27th @ 6pm . This event will not only allow us to honor the hard work and dedication of our athletes but also to bring our community together in a spirit of celebration. We will be serving dinner at the banquet, with a modest fee of $5 per person or $20 per family. Participation in the meal is entirely optional; however, we would love to see as many of you there as possible to show your support for our athletes and celebrate their successes together as a community. As the event approaches, we will share more details, including the menu for the evening, so stay tuned! Thank you once again for your support, and we look forward to celebrating with you all soon! Thanks, Mr. Collins

The Cross Insurance Arena in Bangor hosted Class A and B North Wrestling Regionals this past Saturday. Calais High School brought eight wrestlers to this tournament in hopes of placing in the top four, which would punch their ticket to the MPA Wrestling State Tournament. CHS will be represented by our 106lb freshman, Jack Lanier, who finished the day with a 3rd place medal. Chase Scott, 126lb junior, had to face the number one seed wrestler in the second round at regionals. Scott earned an unusual victory by a defensive pin late in the third period while being down by one point. This secured his bout for the championship finals. Scott fought hard against the number two seed yet didn’t result in a win, earning him a second place finish. Lanier and Scott will be competing at the Collissee in Lewiston this Saturday. Some of the team experienced a season ending day, including Joshua Crews, Parker Bailey, Caiden Seelye, and Bradley Walton. Our female wrestlers, Ashaleigh Sulkowski, Kayla Wilson, Destiny Holmes, and Nathalia Orellana, will be competing at the All Girls State Championship on Feb 18th, at Mt. Blue High School. Please wish everyone good luck as they train hard for their competition at the state level.
